The Sky truly is the limit
If your wedding is supposed to be the greatest day of your life - why not do EXACTLY what you want for it? It doesn’t have to be down the aisle of a venue, as is tradition! BE ADVENTUROUS!
Destination weddings are increasingly popular - and the best part about being a Celebrant!? WE WORK ANYWHERE! - and not just simple venue changes covered as part of my normal service.
You could have your ceremony on a mountaintop, the Grand Canyon, while riding a rollercoaster (think about doing the entire ceremony on Oblivion…not impossible!)
Saying “I do” and have your kiss followed by a bungy jump. A skydive? LET’S DO IT! On a boat.
Personally - desperately want to marry someone in Hobbiton, Matamata, Aotearoa New Zealand (geeks form an orderly queue! I will BRING THE GOODS!)
Unique Wedding Settings
It’s your day. Make the most of it!
For example…
arctic wedding? Easy.
You might think it’s a crazy idea. You might think it’s something that felt impossible. I’m here to tell you…it isn’t. It never is. If you want it. Let’s work together to make it happen!
I had the beautiful privilege of being able to perform a gorgeously intimate wedding ceremony an hour outside of Tromsø, Norway, in the Arctic Circle at the shoreline of a fjord (that started to freeze across the evening!), with the Northern Lights coming out to celebrate with us too. Between the couple and I, we planned the ceremony around a place they had dreamed of getting married in. They had all their legalities sorted in the UK (more on that here). Travel and costs were estimated and finalised and all that was left was working together to craft the perfect ceremony, filled with Norse poetry, Sami joiks (singing), a handfasting, and a set of vows that I helped each spouse write.
Before the ceremony :
starting the day looking over the Ersfjord.
Mid-ceremony:
Lit by a small bonfire in Hatteng, at almost midnight!
Shortly after, the aurora flared for the
happy couple!
It was stunning - and if that tells you anything, it should be this:
for your wedding. Nothing is impossible*
*except maybe getting married on the Moon, I’m afraid. Training takes a long time…

All prices for these more adventurous and amazing weddings, by their very nature, have to be by enquiry only - but, this also allows us to be able to cook up some amazing ideas together, all within your budget! - Everything in the standard wedding package will still be included!

alternative funerals
For many people and families, a traditional funeral ceremony doesn’t match their personality as the best way to honour their memory and passing. They may have spiritual beliefs that align more with being in nature - such as many Pagans and Druids. Some may want a Norse Heathen funeral, where the ashes have already been collected and will now be placed on a small boat on a lake and burned on the water as they journey onward to Valhöll, Folkvangr, or Hel.
Maybe it’s as simple as just wanting to memorialise and honour your loved one in a specific place that meant a lot to them. Many clansfolk choose to have funerals in The Highlands for example. Parks, beaches, pubs, lakes. The list is endless. What’s important is that no matter the why - spiritual, meaningful, or people that frankly just want to have their funeral turn into something really unique and fun-filled - you can know in your heart that your person is being given the perfect ceremony that honours and respects who they are and what they want to be remembered for.
Many people nowadays equally choose to have Living Funerals - where the person attends their own ceremony and get to experience their loved ones memories of them themselves. It can be an incredibly powerful for that person to reclaim their funeral service for themselves. Equally, it could be an event for after a funeral service, such as a memorial or an interment of ashes.
Death has always been a difficult subject for centuries, but, it doesn’t necessarily have to be. I’m here to help support you and guide you through every step of the way - and that can include people that would rather their funeral be full-to-the-brim with fun, humour and vibrancy, to find the joke in it all can be a wonderfully healing thing to do alongside the natural grief that occurs for anyone (see below for an idea!)
Whatever you choose, I am here to help you create a truly unique and bespoke ceremony.
bespoke funerals
made simple
As well as including everything in the standard funeral service I provide. We can also meet to discuss locations, rituals, and what needs sourcing for these more unique and specific funeral services. These sorts of ceremonies don’t have a leading price based on their nature of being truly bespoke - but a rough budget for my service is around £350 + travel, as a minimum.
This is more than just a simple funeral service. This is something with real heart at its core and we will create something truly special.
Your service. Your way.
turning funerals up to 11!
who said funerals had to be quiet?
When Dave Grohl finished his eulogy for Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister in January 2016. Lemmy’s signature bass was plugged in to a small army of Marshall’s…
Everyone raised their glass of whisky, and the bass was struck, once, hard. Then stood against the amps, left to feedback over and over into a deafening drone.
So it was, that Lemmy echoed and roared into the afterlife as the ultimate Metal God that he was!
There’s a widely held myth that funerals (or weddings!) have to be very traditional, with a very stiff upper lip delivery. But, this absolutely is not the case! Far from it.
Some people want that traditional ceremony and that is perfectly fine, but for so many people, that just won’t cut it.
If you’re looking to honour your passed Metalhead - LET’S RAISE THE GODDAMN ROOF! They deserve it! Their funeral should be so loud and badass it should make a circle pit at a Slayer concert look like a ******* cake walk!
There is no one way to “have a funeral” and our people deserve to have their memories and their legacy honoured. So, get your amps, get your best tracks in hand, don your tees and battle jackets, and together we can build a ceremony that rocks the very foundations of whatever venue you choose.
This can work for a funeral, or even a longer memorial service too with a much more casual feel and larger crowd presence. The main thing is this:
No one but your loved one and you decide what their service “should” be. So honour them in a way that not only will allow them to live on in your memories - but with a service that will go down in history and raise the bar for the rest!!
Pet funerals
Cats. Dogs. Snakes. Birds. Hamsters. Lizards. All the way through to invertebrates, fish and beyond. Our pets enrich our families in huge ways, whether they live a relatively small lifespan or for multiple decades or even generations. They make our lives have deeper meaning and to lose them is to lose a family member.
They’re a part of our lives - but for a lot of them, we’re ALL of theirs.
Honour your pet with a funeral that contains everything a funeral for a human being would have, we can even find or create a new ritual to help capture their essence in the service alongside a beautiful eulogy too.
